BIOGRAPHY

Alex Brinkley writes eclectic and timeless music for films, video games, and media.

Eclectic, positive, and timeless are the defining features to Alex Brinkley’s music. No matter if he is composing for the orchestra, writing original songs, or arranging for big band, his sense of storytelling and catchy melodies are undeniable.

Growing up in Seattle, Alex played music since the age of nine. He first started on saxophone and quickly picked up piano, guitar, and singing. Alex has performed in countless ensembles, even playing in a Zimbabwean marimba ensemble!

Throughout his early twenties, Alex performed and wrote music as part of Drum Corps International, going as far as performing the 1812 Overture with the Boston Pops in Tanglewood. As of April 2020, Alex has been on the music team for over fifty marching band shows in over a dozen states.

In 2016, Alex shifted his focus to film scoring and has scored over twenty films, video games, and commercials. Alex’s music has been heard at the Cannes Film Festival, Los Angeles CineFest, and most recently at the Prisma Independent Film Awards in Italy. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music from Columbia College Chicago in 2019. In May 2021, he will finish his Masters of Fine Art in Music Composition for the Screen at Columbia.

Alex’s unbridled optimism has allowed him to transcend a variety of genres, including most recently on the psychological thriller Red set to premiere this summer.
